The Supreme Alphabet and Supreme Mathematics, with their concepts of degrees and numerals is what attracted him. One day, long after he`d been sent upstate, my phone rang. His beard was rough against the receiver, adding to the rawness of his voice. The Fed, aint no joke...no windows, no sun...TV, a recreation deck to occupy my time." I said nothing.
